good news: i made it home.
bad news: i had to ditch the car about 100 yards up the street.
good news: i didn't hit anything or damage the car doing it.
bad news: it'll probably get hit by someone with less control than me.
oh well, at least i'm home safe with no major problems.
i was coming down tulip grove and i saw that just before my turnoff there were a bunch of cars piled up. i was moving fairly slowly, and i researched the possibility of coming to a stop... that didn't work out so well, so i decided to just pull the car into the ditch before it got to the point of hitting something, which i did fairly nicely.
about a minute later, two moving vans were coming up the hill. one made it, the other lost traction and momentum near where my car was, and started to slide down the hill. he eventually turned 90 degrees before ending up in the ditch about 30 yards in front of me. i don't think he hit the next car, but he came close. about two minutes later, some guy decided to try to come down the hill (some of the cars had moved out of the way, but the van was still blocking things). he decided he had to stop and just barely slid by my car before hitting the van...
all but two of the cars that were stuck there have been pulled out by a guy with a monster style truck, but i'm just gonna hold out for some melting action before i try to come down the rest of the way, otherwise things will get worse.
i left a note on my door in a ziplock back with my info for the lucky soul that hits me.
wheee.
if there hadn't been a big pileup on the hill, i think i could have made it, even in my dinky car.

well, i'm here for good now.
got the car in the garage, and i'm not going anyway until at least sunday.
