Malachi's Log: 021119 (tuesday)

We at breakfast today at Au Bon Pain. Good muffin. Bad OJ.

Class was... interesting. But they had crummy internet access. 90% packet loss.

We at lunch at Riverside Marketplace. Sort of a health food maket and deli. They didn't have much on the deli side I was interested in, but I got some cashews and a clif bar.

We were late getting back to class, however, because we spent most of the time wandering around looking for some other deli the Brits had been to on Monday and we settled on Riverside when they couldn't find it.

After class it was already dark. We made a treck to Plumeri. A new italian joint owned by our CEO, and named after him. The food* wasn't bad. I took a picture of the other guys in front of the sign*, but I was in a hurry, so it turned out... oddly. The place was kind of trendy, but fairly empty. I had the moz. tortiloni, but it was more like ravioli. I also had the cheese cake. It was kind of small and round. Not exactly what I had expected. It was also a bit dry and crumbly for my taste, but the rasberries and sauce were very good. Still, I expected more for 8$.

On the way we passed the hole where the WTC towers used to be*. I didn't really feel anger or fear, just sadness. I can't even imagine what it looked like before. We also passed Nobu, where Iron Chef Morimoto used to work, as well as Next Door Nobo.

After dinner we rode a cab up to the empire state building. The view was nice, but some of the pictures didn't turn out well because it was hard to be steady with the wind and all.

We decided to walk back to the hotel (around 5 miles). Along the way we stopped at Tower Records. It was HUGE. They had more jazz and classical than I have ever seen before, including at least two copys of Dvorak's symphonies 1-9. They even had a little bluegrass room.

Today Josh and I got to check out Mark and Matt's rooms. We got the better deal. They have closet style double doors into the bathroom. Very strange.
