Malachi's Log: 010720 (friday)

Our big presentation yesterday went pretty well. We were afraid that we would be over everyone's heads, but I think that our enthusiasm made up for that.

We basically had to put together a little demo of Visual Studio.NET in a week and then present it to all of the IS staff. The app was cheesy, but it worked and we learned a lot. I really hope we adopt these tools as soon as possible.

In other news, I got a new machine at work (Compaq P3 933, 256MB RAM, 20GB HD [if you care]). I was supposed to have today off, but I went in and worked on getting it ready so I can use it Monday. They need my old machine to give to someone else.

I spent most of today in my happy place. Installing the free copy of VM Ware for Windows that I got at TechEd and installing the tools I need get work done. This machine has Windows 2000, which is a little better than my old one with WinNT 4.0. I was so busy that I forgot to eat.

When I got home, I made an origami lobster* with the tissue-foil paper I made the other night. It's not perfect, but I think it came out pretty well. This model is from John Montrol's Animal Origami for the Enthusiast.
