Church was interesting today. It was the final celebration of 50 years in this building* (from the other direction*). The chior sang several songs that the music director had written to commemorate the event.
After that I went back and picked up the day pack I had been looking at. It's a Vaude Cosmo (not listed on the site). It's a rather small day pack that only holds 800 in3, but I plan to use it for more everyday tasks too, and I want something that will make me think about every item I take with me. If I have a big bag then I will very easily toss everything I own into it and end up hurting myself.
If I ever take a picture of it that I like, I'll put it up here.
I decided to try to build my own compact first aid kit instead of paying 15$ for the cute packaged one.
We came back home and I took Torgo for an extended walk. I wanted to see how the new pack felt and also see if I could get my boots to stop rubbing my toes the wrong way. The pack felt pretty good, and I think I figured out how to keep my boots from hurting my toes.
On the walk I saw some sad stuff, like an area of undeveloped land that people had used as a dump site. An old refrigerator, a couch, a stove, and other random garbage strewn about. Rather depressing.
After I came back, Kimberly and I left to go to the going away party of some friends from church that are moving to Colorado, but she had to stop by someone's house for a post natal visit and she forgot I was in the car. I waited for an hour and a half. The party was fun when we finally got there. We will miss them very much. They had a great collection of games like Ricochet Robot. Our lives just won't be as rich without them around.
