Malachi's Log: 010602 (saturday)

Last night Kimberly assisted her second homebirth. She was gone all night and didn't get back until 6am.

Before she had to go, we spent the day doing stuff around town (I had the day off). We ate at the Olive Garden and we saw Joey and Julie. We also took a nap.

While we were asleep Torgo chewed on the power cable for Kimberly's laptop, and he also pulled the whole thing off the table. It almost broke the NIC dongle (usage 3).

It wasn't until this morning that we noticed that Torgo had chewed through enough of the cable to make it not work anymore. I ended up hacking it back together so that Kimberly can use her laptop at all (and save the 50$ expense of buying a new one, ugh).

I went shopping for some hiking equipment today. I really wanted a decent belt pack and maybe a little bit of other stuff. We went up to Opry Mills since they have two outdoors equipment stores.

One store didn't have any belt packs I liked. They were either too small or had too many features. They did have a neat mini day pack, though. The other store had a much smaller selection, but one of the belt packs actually looked pretty neat and useful. I still haven't decided, but since it appears that the day pack might not be made anymore, I'll probably get it tomorrow because I think I'll get more use out of it. It won't be quite as handy on a hike, but it will be more useful from day to day.

I also realized that I should probably start packing a small first aid kit, just in case. They had a couple light ones, but I might just cook up my own.
